Common Name: Montezuma's Cattleheart
Distribution: South American Region
Description: Caterpillars feed on pipevine and use toxins in the plant to give them a bad
taste. The bright red and black colors of the adult warn potential predators
not to eat them. Cattlehearts are swallowtails and like most members of the
family flutter from flower to flower as they feed.
